What is Panchakarma?

Panchakarma  translates from Sanskrit as five (pancha) actions (karma) and it is a detoxification and rejuvenation therapy that involves five purification treatments:
  1. Vamana (emesis)
  2. Virechana (purgation)
  3. Basti (enemas)
  4. Nasya (nasal cleansing)
  5. Raktamokshana (bloodletting)
These Treatments are only done as indicated by what the patient needs.
What is the purpose of Panchakarma?

Panchakarma is done   to eliminate toxins, balance the doshas, and restore overall health and well-being.
To prepare the body for any of these Treatments,  Purvakarma must be performed first, which includes Abhyanga and Svedana, herbal formulas and diet recommendations.
Any Panchakarma Program must start with a full Consultation to assess the  Doshic imbalances in the body.
